Nursing institute was started in 1998 for providing excellent education and training and to facilitate the village communities for raising their health status and in turn solving social, economic and allied problems. The Institute offers Two year duration course of ANM / MPHW (F), three year General Nursing and Midwifery course (GNM), B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) course of two year duration and B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) of four year duration, and M Sc Nursing of Two year duration in three specialities namely Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing. Nursing Institute is located on the outskirts of Chandigarh on 41140 sq yards (8.5 Acres) of land. The infrastructure of the institute comprises of Six-storey building equipped with modern facilities. Each floor has spacious & well ventilated classrooms. Laboratory section comprises of Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Maternal & Child Health (MCH Lab.), Community & Fundamentals of Nursing Labs The institute library is enriched with literature, nursing journals (National & International) Magazine & Professional Books. Adjoining to the library is the Computer room with computer terminals for the use of students. Presently the institute has attained a level in which at least 1000-1500 students can be accommodated in the new multi storey building. At the end we would like to say that Rattan Professional Education College, Sohana which was established in 1998 with the aim of imparting education & improving Health status has achieved its goal & completed 10 year successfully in the field of education. Most of our students, after completion of their course, have been employed in various leading hospitals / Education Institutes in India & Abroad. Now we are planning to upgrade the Institute to Postgraduate level.
